Here is where it all began. Approx 1978

Until one fine late afternoon of hot
laps, on a dry dusty track, the # 80
Thunder met up with a brand new
thunder car that was just taking to
the track. Needless to say, tow
trucks were needed.

Little thunder came back to life. This cars had
already been slated to be a racecar of type, SCCA
off-roading of some sort.. WE DIDN'T CARE!!

After a few weeks of hustling we converted over this 1980 Toyota Corolla SR5 to become the latest in our stable at
the time. We still have the title to this car! Heck we still even have the car!!

This car was a piece of work! It came from the Factory with 48MM
dual sidedrafts!! After winning a few nights, our promoter at the
time, Bobby Maupin, asked us to remove them, so at great
expense and work we did. We ended up going with a 350 holley
2Barrell the very next week, and won again ! hahaha

We even took the #80 Thunder to the Corpus Christi
Speedway (first time on asphalt for us) And pretty
easily broke into their top five, Which, later lead to
breaking out a small, uhm,difference of opinions
when the cars went to the tech area. Our crew had
larger members, soooo, they saw it OUR way!
